Dr. Tom Haug was born and raised in Kansas. Dr. Haug received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 from Kansas State University. He practiced in Kansas City for three years before becoming associated with Belmont Veterinary Center in 1985. He and his wife, Karen, have six children. He enjoys camping, reading, and model railroading. |

Dr. Kristen Schlenker is originally from Lexington, NE. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2007 and moved to Lincoln with her husband, Tyson. She spent the first 2 years after graduation commuting to a small animal clinic in Omaha before joing the Belmont Veterinary Center team in June 2009. Her personal interests include spending time with family and friends, collegiate sports, and any outdoor activity. She and Tyson have a 2 year old daughter and another expected to join the family in July. They share their home with a dog named Cooper and Oscar, the most ornery of cats. She is very happy to have found a place amongst the Belmont community and looks forward to the opportunity to serve the people and their beloved pets for years to come. |

Dr. Catherine Nixon is from Laurel, NE. Growing up she was involved in many activities associated with the rural community. After completion of high school, she attended Wayne State College. At Wayne State she completed her BS in biology and chemistry. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. After finishing at Kansas State she completed a one year internship at Texas A & M University focusing on large animal medicine and surgery. Prior to joining us at Belmont Veterinary Center, Dr Nixson practiced in a mixed animal practice in Laurel. She has a husband, Tyler, daughter Rainy, a border collie Miles and a couple of horses. She enjoys the outdoors loves to go horseback riding. |

Dr. Lynn Kolterman is our newest veterinarian to join our staff at Belmont Veterinary Center. She is from Seward, NE. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2003 and from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After graduation, she began practicing as a mixed animal practitioner in Hastings, NE. In July 2010, Dr. Kolterman joined the Belmont Veterinary Center team and reunited with her classmate, Dr. Schlenker. Dr. Kolterman and her husband Nate live in Seward where Nate operates Kolt Cattle. Nate and Lynn have a daughter and 2 cats. She is happy to be back in her hometown of Seward and excited to be part of Belmont Veterinary Center. |
